I have been coming to West End Medical Practice for many years. They have always taken very good care of me and my family. The reception staff are always friendly and helpful and the doctors are gentle, patient, considered and professional. As with all good general medical practices, I have felt supported and cared for along the many health challenges a person and their family can face throughout their lives. I would gladly recommend West End Medical Practice to anyone.

I have been a patient of Dr John Ruberry since he started. He uses evidence based practice and will investigate thoroughly to understand what's going on. He explains his thought processes, welcomes feedback and collaborates with his patients to find the right solution. He is highly professional and takes client confidentiality seriously. He is non-judgemental, LGBTIQ+ friendly and doesn't prescribe weight loss for every problem. He is excellent and I can't recommend him highly enough.

I have been a patient of Dr Rob Ruberry for 38 years. He is a terrific doctor who has an excellent sense of humour and a wealth of knowledge. I trust his medical advice implicitly and highly recommend him. The staff at West End Medical Practice are professional, friendly and in my experience go the extra mile to help when you most need it. I would definitely recommend this medical practice.

I have been attending this surgery for many years, and appreciate Dr Rob Ruberry's skills, knowledge and reassuring care. His breadth of experience and knowledge is always up-to-date and translated into easy to understand and follow advice. The reception staff are all very positive and unflappable, despite the busy practice and high volume of calls. Highly recommended

I can highly recommend the professionalism and kind, caring support offered by West End Medical Practice. I have been a patient for close to 40 years. My regular doctor , Dr. Susan Anderson has been a great support to me through life's ups and downs and various health issues for all those years and the shared experience and wonderful doctor/patient rapport continues to this day! I love the warmth and friendliness of the girls at reception on arrival, as well. 💖

I would like to thoroughly recommend this practice as a patient of over 20 years, I have visited all of the Doctors but more frequently, Dr Ruberry senior and lately, Dr John Ruberry. I have found Dr John Ruberry to be consistently professional in every regard. He is a careful listener and takes time to provide options for treatment, explaining his diagnosis and reasons for referring on to further investigations if necessary. His manner is very respectful and always polite. The staff at reception are always friendly, courteous and helpful.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Susan Andersen for over 20 years. She has seen me through all of life’s big events and traumas, and I cannot thank her and West End Medical Practice enough. Now that I’m looking for a new GP in Hobart I realise how special my relationship with her has been. She’s someone who listens and believes you, is reassuring and compassionate and the practice doesn’t treat patients like commodities and values people’s time - they ring when appointments are late, provide scripts out of appointments and reschedules promptly when needed. They are the best.

So sad this place is closing. John Ruberry is great - no fluff just straight to the issue. He is very evidence based and scientific with his approach and lays out options logically for you. A lot of other GPs aren’t clear and talk in circles or dismiss any request for explaining.
